FF, Book Blogger Hop, and a Little Friday Tale…

I am so far behind with everything this week. But finally it is the weekend, of course I have to work, it is still the weekend. Yay! I thought I’d do something a bit different today and share a little tale with you after FF and Book Blogger Hop.

So here’s how it goes:

Follow Friday

To join the fun and make now book blogger friends, just follow these simple rules:

  1. Follow the Follow My Book Blog Friday Host { } and any one else you want to follow on the list
  2. Follow our Featured Bloggers -
  3. Put your Blog name & URL in the Linky thing.
  4. Grab the button up there and place it in a post, this post is for people to find a place to say hi in your comments
  5. Follow Follow Follow as many as you can
  6. If someone comments and says they are following you, be a dear and follow back. Spread the Love...and the followers
  7. If you want to show the link list, just follow the link below the entries and copy and paste it within your post!

Book Blogger Hop

1.  Enter your book blog link in the Linky List below

In your link, please state the main genre that you review:  eclectic, contemp. fiction, ya, paranormal, mystery, non-fiction, etc.  Please do not list every genre you review - if you are review a variety, please put eclectic!  The Hop gets jumbled up if the title is too long, so please limit to one genre.  I will be limiting the number of characters in the title to ensure the Hop doesn't look messy!  Thank you!

Example:  Crazy-for-Books (literary fiction)

2. Post about the Hop on your blog.  Spread the word about the book party!  The more the merrier!  In your blog post, answer the following question (new question each week!).

Who is your favorite new-to-you author so far this year?

2.  Visit other blogs in the Linky List!  Make new friends!  Follow new book bloggers!  Talk about books!  Rave about authors!  Take the time to make a quality visit!  Check out other posts and content, make a new friend!  Don't randomly follow someone if you never intend on actually following them!  No spamming please!  (Please do not leave your link and not visit other blogs - it's just not cool and not in the spirit of the Hop!)

Who is your favorite new-to-you author so far this year?

Without a doubt Seressia Glass. She’s the author of the amazing urban fantasy novels Shadow Blade and Shadow Chase (which was published this week). I’m working on reviews for both novels at the moment.

The Little Green Butterfly: A Friday Tale

Today, on my way home from work, I went into 7/11 to buy myself some cocoa for a cup of hot chocolate and there I saw the most peculiar thing. A little green butterfly was merrily floating around the shop without a care in the world. Now, most people might think it was just another butterfly, but I’ve always thought of butterflies as fairies.

A child at heart I am.

Taking in the scenery, she flew across the room over to the coolers, but decided it was just to cold and she didn’t want to get ill. Instead she went over to the candy to get a wif of the sweet, delicious chocolates, and caramels. She stayed there for a while until some rude man waved his arms around to get her out of the way. The little green butterfly fairy was most distraught by this, and went into hiding until it was safe to come out again.

What would a pretty little thing like her be doing inside a 7/11 on a Friday night? I thought.

Maybe she just went into the shop to get out of the frightful rain. It seems possible. Yet, I think she flew out of the pages of one of the costumers’ books. And instead of seeking shelter from the rain, she in fact lost her way among the pages. A 7/11 isn’t the sort of place you find a little green butterfly fairy. No, she was on her way to a clothing shop to buy herself a pretty pink petticoat, and a celadon parasol for her dress, which she is going to wear at the Princess’ tea party on Sunday.

I didn’t see her as I left the store. I hope she finds her way back between the pages so she won’t miss the tea party. It is simply not done.

I never really thought about butterflies as fairies until I read Fablehaven and almost always think about that now. :)
